Experience
I was a peer tutor at Community College of Vermont for the last two semesters I attended and really enjoyed my time there. Being an English major there is something about knowledge that I find fascinating, for example where and from what medium we acquire the knowledge we hold, what we consider to be good knowledge, etc. But what is the most fascinating to me is watching others come upon that knowledge and knowing I helped in that journey. I am 23 and a junior, some of you might be wondering where and how I spent the time in between when I wasn't in school, and truth be told I was in school. As with many others I did not know what path my college career would take when I started and ended up changing my mind a few times; from anthropology to environmental management and protection, and finally to English, specifically writing and literature. In no way was changing my mind a set-back for me, even though I have prolonged the time it will take to receive my B.A., in fact it has been quite the opposite. I have been able to take a variety of classes filled with peers pursuing much different paths than I ended on only bringing a more interesting view to my education.
